Big World Bigger Dreams: DC Fashion Week: Katwalk To Carnival

Happy Monday! There's something refreshing about the start of a new week. It's a blank slate. It's whatever you want it to be, so make it good! Did you have a good weekend? Good! On Friday before the snowpocalypse hit the east coast pretty hard, I had the opportunity to attend a fashion show during DC Fashion Week, featuring DC's top designers. LoveJoy Image and Jason Anthony presented Katwalk To Carnival. It was held at THE National Press Club. Now I've heard wonderful things about this building. This isn't any regular old building. The National Press Club has seen the likes of presidents, actors and foreign dignitaries. This is a private club for journalists and communications professionals, it's known as "The place where news happens." When I arrived I was in awe of this building. On my way to the coat check I spotted a picture of President Obama and George Clooney casually on the wall. No big deal, right?

The fashion show was Carnival themed. By Carnival I mean Brazil; bright, beautiful costumes! I'm Caribbean, so I was really looking forward to the show, and it did not disappoint. First off the host was the hilarious Paul Wharton. You've seen him on the CW and MTV! He kept me laughing the entire show, as in can't breathe laughter. The clothing...gorgeous! I mean, just beautiful vibrant colors. The silhouettes were stunning and the prints had me ready for spring. These designers are so talented!
