Blogger Scene

Hey guys! The past two weeks have been crazy busy, as in I'm barely sleeping. It's official, I'm like a real adult now, with a job, who complains about traffic and dreams about going to bed at 8pm. Thursday night I was able to take a little time for myself and I attended Blogger Scene. If you are a DMV blogger NEED  to attend Blogger Scene. These events were created by bloggers Ashley of Ashley In DC and Natalie and Erika of The Fashionably Broke. They're parties where bloggers can network and socialize. I love going to these events, there is such a great vibe and so many well dressed bloggers! I don't know how times I thought "I wonder where they got that?"

They had a panel discussion made up stellar bloggers and Youtubers. Melanie of The Pretty Little Blog, Sarah of Fifty Two Thursdays, Meg of Meg Biram and Claire of Claire Ashley Beauty. I learned so much from them and can't wait to grow Truthfully Yours, Dahlia. Stay Tuned!

Also plot twist, I vlogged some of the night! It was great. Pics and videos from the night below.

Drop It Like It's Cropped?

Happy Friday All! I hope this week was filled with sugar cookies and good times! I say sugar cookies because Wednesday was national sugar cookie day. To be honest I had no idea such a day existed, but any excuse to eat cookies right? You know what's really awesome? Eating cookies in crop tops and not caring! Was that not the smoothest way to transition into today's topic? I think yes!

I've always loved the crop top trend for a casual look but recently it's been all over the red carpet and I am digging it. It's such an fun way to spice up a formal look with just a peep of bare of midriff. It's elegant, edgy yet super tasteful. Let's take a look at the ladies who have killed on the red carpet.

Emma Stone- Where do I even begin! She looks amazing! The pink and magenta complement each other perfectly. The slit in the skirt and the back of the top screams sass! She nailed this look.

Mindy Kaling- I can't get over how much I love this look on Mindy! The top and skirt is so structured  then there's the slightest bit of skin. Such a classy look!

Lilly Collins- This look is full of drama. The skirt reminds you of a ball gown then the crop top edges it up a bit. Btw she is killing the eyebrow game, I definitely have some eyebrow envy.

Jennifer Lawrence- JLaw looked so chic and girly is this number!

Shay Mitchell- This colorful matching top and bottom is a show stopper! I can't over how fun that print is!

Let me know which look is your favorite!

The Perfect Workspace

Hello friends! I don't know about you all but I've been having the summer of my life! It's been filled with tons of sun and good times. Let's get into the specifics!

I've visited friends and family

I've been eating...a lot

This Cheesecake Factory ricotta and sausage flatbread was so delicious!

The Fractured Prune Donuts are tasty as always. This was the French Toast donut...SO GOOD! The OC Sand is great also!

Busboys and Poets with friends! This Grilled Cheese and Bacon Panini was delish! #noms

Consuming large amounts of caffeine, but thats on the reg.

The caffeine has been a must lately since I'm in the process of figuring out what I'm going to do with my life. There are no pictures of that because it would just be me in the fetal position sobbing...JUST KIDDING! It would actually be a picture of me at my computer doing hours and hours of research. I don't mind all the work because I'm setting up the foundation for my future which I'm super excited about! Plus i'm cultivating awesome content for you all ;)

I believe the process of doing my research and cultivating content would feel better if I had the perfect workspace. I recently bought a white desk from IKEA which I am in love with! There is one piece that is missing but I plan on buying it a a later date.

I specifically want an inspiring workspace that makes me happy to work at! So I'm taking on a new project..."Project Perfect Workspace" is a go. When I decided to create a new workspace naturally, I went on Pinterest for about three hours looking for inspiration. I found some amazing spaces that got my interior design juices flowing.

Lauryn creator of the Skinny Confidential has the most perfect workspace. She recently just wrote about creating the perfect workspace and I have taken notes!

Her space is so fun!

Here is some more office inspiration.

Do you all have any tips?! Let me know!

This Monday I am feeling very mellow, so obviously my indie/calming playlist is calling my name. I did not make this playlist today! It's taken me months to make! Enjoy!
