Real Life: Power Panel!

Hey Everyone! This weeks has been a little cray cray in the membrane with school, but thank the sweet baby Jesus that I am on spring break as of yesterday! Finally time that I can relax, catch up on some TV, maybe a little school work (probably...) and do some writing! Although this week was pretty hectic, I took some time to go to George Washington University to see their Power Panel hosted by The Levo League. It was such a great event, it was a night full of laughs, advice, and Georgetown Cupcakes! If you don't know what the Levo League is they are "A growing community of professional women seeking advice, inspiration, and the tools needed to succeed" (from their website)

Also from their website

Their mission statement

You all should definitely check them out, there are so many helpful resources when it come to the
looking for a job. They have these awesome videos called Office Hours where some of the top experts give you advice on life and the workforce. Not to long ago they had Kelly Cutrone on this segment!

The panelists were Carly Heitlinger, which some of you may know as the College Prepster; Cori Sue Morris co-founder of the blog Bitches Who Brunch; Megan Griffith Associate Director of Sales Development at WeddingWire Inc; Elizabeth Kane, Founder of CharityChicks US; Laura DiLibero owner of York Design (she specializes  in needlepoint!); Allison Sheren founder of Neighborsations (a site that connects neighbors based on their common interests); and Laura Simmons creator of Social Tables. Hearing their stories and advice was so inspiring, it made me realize that anything is possible with some hard work and determination. I learned some very valuable advice from these ladies such as:

  1. Stay true to yourself
  2. Don't be afraid to ask for what and deserve- No one will never know if you don't tell them
  3. Organic is better- for example if you have a blog, website etc. be yourself don't try to be like anyone else, because everyone else is taken ;)
Here are some pictures from that night

Then Back to real life, studying at ungodly hours.

The only thing that kept me going the next day, but it was so worth it!

Overall it was such a great night. Everyone go check out The Levo League, they have amazing advice and resources! Have a relaxing Saturday!

xoxo
