As you all know I live in the DMV (DC, Maryland & Virginia) area, I'm about a 20 minute drive away from DC. My favorite thing about living so close to DC is cherry blossoms. So myself and my gal pals ventured out to see the cherry blossoms! SO. MANY. PEOPLE. This is obviously a given, but it was so well worth it. We took a nice long walk, took pictures, sat along the water and watched ducks go under water for what seemed like forever (but really how do they do that?). It was such a pleasant afternoon! After we soaked in the beauty of the blossoms I was feeling a little hangry so we grabbed some &Pizza. If you haven't been to &Pizza, what are you doing? Go there for lunch and dinner TODAY! Try the ricotta sauce it's to die for! We wanted to take in as much of the beautiful weather as we could so we ate outside with our pizzas and homemade sodas. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon. Then I headed home, because Netflix and margaritas with Mom were calling my name.

Cherry Blossoms
Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a delightful weekend! I'm actually pumped and ready to take on this week- plus my 23rd Birthday is Wednesday! I'm excited to start this week.

What's In My Bag
Theses are the contents of my (work) bag...you've been warned
Normal People Things| Keys to get into my house, obv. iPhone & Charger because when your phone is dead, you're dead. Smartrip for the metro so I can get to and from work.
Laptop| To connect with you all and do work too ;)
Planner| Planners are life to me and this Passion Planner is GOLD! Blog post on this coming soon.
Publications| To read on the way to work so I'm a well-informed citizen
Pills & Lotions| Winter was really rough on my skin and I'm trying to nurse it back to health with A&D. Advil because migraines are no joke and green tea pills when I need a caffeine boost. Towards the middles in the green packaging is a Salompas for my back, this alleviates the pain pretty quickly.
Food| Usually I keep a Quest Bar or Cliff Bar in my bag but on this day I was feeling extra healthy hence the carrots.
Sunglasses| So i'm not blinded
Makeup| I always keep the mascara and lipstick I wore that day for touch-ups. I also keep lip balm and a mini perfume.
Pens| So I can write things. Normally I carry a small pen bag but it was too big so I ditched it.
Cards| Lastly I carry business cards in my Mount St. Mary's case #thanksmount #proudalum
And that's all folks!
Is your bag a hot mess like mine? Let me know!

Backpackin' Around
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed the first day of spring! Today I want to talk about backpacks. Not the rolling backpacks or the ones twice your size you toted around in elementary school. No ladies, I talking about a grown up backpack. They are so cute and trendy. Just throw all your stuff in it and go on with your life, hands free I might add! I am all about this trend. Lugging around huge purses on one side can take a toll on the bod. Backpacks are perfect for festival season, everything you need for the day fits and you can dance the day away without having your arms restricted. So I going to put away my purse of bricks for a little while and start rocking one of these bad boys below.
Which one is your favorite!?

Making Starbucks Work For You: Vegan & Dairy-Free
Happy Monday my wonderful friends! Did you have a cup of coffee this morning? Already on your second? I feel you! Do what you have to do to stay awake this morning. Do you eat vegan or a dairy-free diet? Are you considering it, but scared you'll miss out on delicious coffee treat such as Starbucks? Well there's a way around that. As you know, for lent I decided to give up meat, dairy and animal products and I needed a way to make my drinks dairy-free and vegan. After some research I found some amazing vegan and dairy-free drinks that you'll love! So before you reach for your third cup of coffee this morning finish reading this.
In my research I found that all the syrups they use in their fraps, lattes etc are vegan EXCEPT the White Chocolate Mocha Syrup and Caramel Sauce. As of February 15th they offer coconut milk as a dairy alternative. Now you can swap the milk out with coconut or soy milk and almond milk if you're in Japan. Obviously the whip cream has dairy, but to be honest I don't really miss it.

My favorites are:
- Soy Green Tea Latte | So yummy! If you are into matcha this is the drink for you.
- Cinnamon Dolce Soy Latte | This makes my heart smile ♡
- Iced Caffe American W/ Soy or Coconut Milk | Can't go wrong with a basic
- Peppermint Soy Latte | For when you're feeling festive
- Any Iced of Hot Tea : Get the Peach Green Tea Lemonade! I love this in the summertime
- Soy Mocha Cookie Crumble Frap W/ no chocolate chips | There's cookies in this...that's all
There are so many other drinks that you can make vegan, just swap out the dairy and you're good to go! Except of it's a White Chocolate Mocha syrup or anything that contains the Caramel Sauce. Don't be afraid to ask the barista questions! I've created a Pocket Vegan Starbucks Guide for you all. I don't know about you, but sometimes I get overwhelmed when I'm ordering or I don't know what to order, this guide should help! Just screenshot this picture and save it to your photo library on your phone.
I hope this was helpful! Let me know what you think of the drinks!

Get It Right, Get It Tight Routine
Hi friends Happy Friday! As promised on Monday I will be sharing my workout routine, mind you it's nothing extraordinary but I thought I'd share it because it might help somebody. If you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to chime in! So here I go...
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am not a trainer, everything I'm sharing I learned from a trainer and personal preference! Now that we have the logistics out of the way...let's get started!
GYM DAY
If I'm going to the gym I like to plan my workouts ahead of time, otherwise I'm a chicken running around with my head cut off. I don't know about you but I hate that feeling, not knowing what you're going to do. As you know your girl loves to plan, so this is fun for me. After speaking with a trainer and figuring out what my goal is we determined that solid weightlifting and cardio (specifically HIIT) would be a good fit for me.
So when I go to the gym I ALWAYS lift first. I learned that doing intense cardio first drops your protein synthesis and your muscle breakdown goes high. You want you protein synthesis to be high when your lifting in addition to that your muscles are in a state of break down...no bueno! So lifting first then cardio!
The trainer at my gym was kind enough to make me a schedule for lifting days ie. leg, glue, back, shoulders, biceps etc. Now that I've got the hang of it I like to play around with the exercises. I found this cool app called JEFIT that has exercises for everything and it shows you how to do it so you don't have poor form!
After I'm done lifting I do some cardio, nothing crazy just enough to burn around 200+ calories! If I remember I stretch (I know bad Dahlia) I stretch, then down some water and go home.
At least once or twice a week I do HIIT or some other type of intense cardio.
This is what I do when I go to the gym! I hope this was somewhat interesting a informative. Please leave and questions, suggestions or comments down below!
